Ninth 'Doctor Who' Christopher Eccleston To Appear As Zod
Episode #21 of the current season of Smallville, titled "Oracle," features the release of General Zod from his imprisonment within the Kryptonian ship. As he emerges, we'll see that Zod has a familiar face to fans of British science fiction - he will be played by Christopher Eccleston, best known as the actor who plays Doctor Who in the current series airing on America's SciFi Channel.

"We wanted someone with an eerie alien quality, and he did that so well when he was on Doctor Who," a representative from the show said in a press release. "Plus, he's British. Zod has to be British. As for his accent, well, even Krypton has a North."

"Oracle" airs on May 4, 2006.

Season Finale Is "Bizarro"
Remember all those spoilers on the KryptonSite Spoilers Page saying that the season finale title was "Vessel?" Well, here's an update: The spoilers are actually wrong.

Season Five's actual finale title is "Bizarro," and it features a new take on the classic Superman comics legend. In the episode, the show's main characters are replaced with Goth-looking duplicates who act the total opposite from the way they are supposed to be. Everyone hates Lana, Lois is smart, Clark puts people in danger purposely, and Lex Luthor and Chloe Sullivan are adored by all.

"We're using Bizarro, because, like, it gives us a chance to make the characters act different, because we never do that," Al Gough said in a recent interview.

Despite this derailment into meteor freak land, the episode's plot DOES tie in to the storylines at the end of the fifth season. What does cloning have to do with Milton Fine's master plan? Watch and see....

Early Season 6 Spoilers: Brandon Routh & New Aquaman To Guest Star?
To hype up Smallville's Fall 2006 move to the new CW network, some details about the early plans for Season 6 have already been leaked.

First off: Following the cameo appearance by Tom Welling in the summer movie blockbuster Superman Returns (see promotional photo beside this article), we hear Brandon Routh returns the favor as an adult Superman from another dimension in the sixth season premiere, "Infinite." Rumor has it that Bryan Singer MAY be recruited to direct this special TV episode, which features the long-awaited return of Alfred Gough and Miles Millar as the episode's writers. Fans hoping for a Welling vs. Routh showdown in this "infinite crisis" may be very happy.

We are also hearing rumors that an early episode from Season 6 will guest-star Justin Hartley as Aquaman and it will tie in to the new CW spin-off series, Mercy Reef. There may also be another unofficial crossover as Bart Allen (Kyle Gallner) is said to return for one episode from each series during November sweeps.

Schneider & WB Prepare The Dukes of Hazzard: The Next Generation
John Schneider may have departed Smallville this season, but Hollywood Variety is reporting that he's got another Warner Bros.-related project in the works.

Schneider is in talks to produce and star in a "next generation" series based on his classic hit The Dukes of Hazzard. The series would pick up over 20 years after the original show, and Bo and Luke have sons of their own. The car, of course, remains the same.

Hazzard 2006 is a changed town. The fun-loving brand of corruption of J.D. Hogg and his loyal but bumbling Sheriff, Rosco P. Coltrane, has been gone for several years; their spots in local government are taken instead by ruthless politicians.

The series' two reunion movies and the big-screen bomb starring Jessica Simpson will be ignored in the new show's continuity, though we hear producers are looking for an actress with "Jessica Simpson looks and beauty" to play a new character who will serve as a love interest for one of the boys.

Should the development prove successful, we could see Hazzard on a major network as early as Spring 2007.

UPDATED With A Scan! Has Chloe Sullivan Already Appeared In DC Comics?
An advance copy of issue #651 of DC's Superman comic book series has a very curious line that may imply that we've been reading about Chloe Sullivan in DC Universe comics for a very long time.

In the issue, it is said that there's a sequence where Lois makes a mention of a COUSIN named Lois Lane. Even more interesting, Lois says "When she passed away from alcohol poisoning at 23, I took her name as my pen name, as a tribute."

UPDATE!!! Chiriru has been able to obtain a copy from her store's First Look program and has provided us with a scan from the page! If it is true, this could reveal the Smallville producers' secret final plans for TV's Chloe character.

Annette O'Toole's Non-Aging Secret
So today is the birthday of Annette O'Toole (Martha Kent) - an actress who still looks as beautiful today as she did when she played Lana Lang in Superman III.

We here at KryptonSite have learned the secret of Ms. O'Toole's beauty. She is apparently part of a secret society called the Hotimom. Every member of the Hotimom knows a secret regimen to keep their youth. However, there are fears within society that if too many people know the ways of the Hotimom, that all the world will think that moms should look as great as they do on TV.

Either way, we wish Annette a very happy birthday. You can leave your wishes for Annette on the K-Site forum.
