Old Headlines - June 16-30, 2002

Obviously an undertaking such as KryptonSite takes up a lot of bandwidth, and that costs money. Beyond that, though, your webmaster Craig is still barely employed. How can you help? Ordering through any of the Amazon.com links always helps, but you can also donate to the site via PayPal! The links to do so are just below. Thanks!! Any help is appreciated. (And if anyone out there is interested in a web content/creative/television-obsessed type guy, please let me know!)

Supposedly there soon will be some filming for Smallville at a gravel pit... perhaps for the season premiere?

We'll let you know when and if we know more. For other premiere and "Redux" information, go to the KryptonSite spoilers page.

Smallville DVD Deleted Scenes Revealed: Now With Screen Captures!
KryptonSite now has some screen grabs from some of the deleted scenes that are on the Smallville DVD. They include a scene cut from "Metamorphosis" where Martha (Annette O'Toole) is a bit freaked out and discussing Clark's powers with Jonathan.

Other deleted scenes include a scene with Pete's uncles and the creamed corn factory, a scene where Lex first comes to town and tours the plant, and what sounds like Pete and Chloe at the homecoming dance. Of course now you can see some shots from these scenes by clicking here. (Generally it is KryptonSite policy *not* to post screen captures, but hopefully we can slide with this one).

As mentioned before, the DVD is released to Canadian stores only but fans in the U.S. can still order it online through Videoflicks.com (and help support KryptonSite!)

Thanks to Steve for passing them along.

Smallville DVD Screen Grabs!
Steve has sent us these screen grabs from the new Smallville DVD (containing the pilot episode and "Metamorphosis"). The DVD will hit stores in Canada only on July 2. Fans in the United States, however, will be happy to know that you can order the DVD online through Videoflicks.com.

As you can see, the interior graphic design is excellent. Sadly, we weren't able to get an advance copy for ourselves :-(

But for those of you who just can't wait, even though we know it'll eat up our bandwidth, take a look at KryptonSite's gallery of menu screens. Thanks again Steve for passing these along! We can't wait! And again, you can order the DVD online from Videoflicks.com. The release date is announced as July 2, but apparently some are going out a little early!

Latest TV Zone Magazine Features Smallville Coverage
The UK's TV Zone magazine has featured some bits of Smallville before, but the latest issue is even better! It features Michael Rosenbaum on the cover and an interview with him inside. There are 11-12 pages on Smallville in the magazine, including "For" and "Against" pieces on the show's first season. There's also said to be an interview with Allison Mack (Chloe) too!

You can read even more excerpts from the interview at TV Zone's website, and you can order a copy there while you're at it!

Fans can still vote online (for Kristin and Tom) as the online poll continues through July 1. You can vote by following this link.

So again, go to EW's site, vote for Kristin and Tom, and if they both win, then we can all be happy.

Upcoming Marvel Comic Takes You To Marville
Comicon.com's Newsarama recently posted an article about an upcoming "U-DECIDE" promotion that Marvel Comics is doing later this year. While of course we hope Peter David's Captain Marvel title will be the book of choice for people, the cover of the first issue of Marvel president Bill Jemas's series Marville has a very familiar image.

Templeton School Site Features Smallville Behind-The-Scenes Photos
The official website for the Templeton Secondary School (where the school scenes of Smallville are filmed) now has posted some behind the scenes photos from the show. They weren't allowed to use a flash, so some came out a bit dark. You can find them by clicking here.

And hey, Templeton, where's your KryptonSite link?

KryptonSite and Gotham Clock Tower Mentioned In Starburst Magazine
The latest issue of Starburst magazine (which we believe has Star Wars on the cover, we haven't been able to locate an actual copy) features an article about the upcoming WB series Birds of Prey that mentions KryptonSite's new Gotham Clock Tower website as well as the original, which you are reading right now. Here's what the article had to say:

"A year ago, Superman fans were eagerly checking www.kryptonsite.com for all the latest news on the development of Smallville. The makers of that site are now doing the same for Birds of Prey and you can find it at www.gothamclocktower.com."

The article is accompanied by a picture of the animated Joker and Harley Quinn characters. You should be able to find Starburst at your local newsstand (unless you're in L.A., apparently!)
