Obviously
an undertaking such as KryptonSite takes up a lot of bandwidth, and that
costs money. Beyond that, though, your webmaster Craig is still barely
employed. How can you help? Ordering through any of the Amazon.com links
always helps, but you can also donate to the site via PayPal! The links

Smallville DVD
You won't see this in stores in the United States but you
CAN order it through Videoflicks.com.
The DVD includes deleted scenes, a map of Smallville, and, oh yeah, what
sounds like the Smallville pilot and "Metamorphosis."
The DVD also includes commentary from executive producers Alfred Gough
and Miles Millar and pilot director David Nutter. What are you waiting
for? Order
a copy!
Superman
For All Seasons
Smallville explores the story of
a young Clark Kent and his place in the world on television. In the comics,
this was very well illustrated in Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's "Superman For
All Seasons." This has been labeled a "must read" by many fans and also
listed as the favorite Superman story of recent years by many. Check it
out!
Superman
Transformed!
In 1997 the creators of the Superman comics altered Clark's
powers. Since it's a given that Smallville's
Clark may be dealing with at least one electrical wraith, here's where
you can find out what happened when things turned shocking for Superman.
It's also good if you were away from the comics for a while and were wondering
what that blue Superman thing was all about.

A
High School Yearbook Photo Of Kristin Kreuk! |
(3/27)
Miss Windy also passed this one along -- a picture of Kristin
Kreuk (Lana) when she was in high school (so many years
ago!)
And
for the ladies... a
high school picture of Tom Welling, that was posted
here on KryptonSite back in December. Click
on this link to see that. Now all we need are high school
photos of the rest of the cast and we'll be set! (If anyone
has these or childhood photos of the cast that have not been
printed in magazines or on other sites before, send
in some e-mail!)

RUMOR:
Smallville Moving This
Fall? |
(3/17)
Rumors and speculation are flying about the WB's schedule
for Fall 2002.
Since
Smallville is one of the network's hits, they might
use it to "anchor" a new night and pair something
else on Tuesdays with Gilmore Girls. A lot of speculation
has pointed to Smallville taking over the "Wednesdays
at 8PM" spot (with Dawson's Creek moving elsewhere).
Keep
in mind this is simply speculation, and nothing has been announced
or will be announced until May. What do you think about this?
Talk
about it on the KryptonSite message board!

Michael
Rosenbaum In Toyfare Magazine |
(3/27)
The latest issue of Toyfare magazine features a one-page
"celebrity interview" with Smallville's Lex
Luthor, Michael Rosenbaum, where he talks about what
variant Michael Rosenbaum figures there should be, about his
upcoming action figure, and also about playing He-Man with
his brother at age 14.
You
can find Toyfare at newsstands and comic book stores
everywhere.
The
Toyfare magazine also makes a mention that Michael will be
appearing at the 2002 Wizard World Chicago convention, which
will be running from July 5-7, 2002. Us here at KryptonSite
prefer the San Diego con, but those of you who are planning
to attend Wizard World might get a chance to meet Michael
in person! We will let you know if we get confirmation of
Michael's Wizard World appearance.
To
your right you can see a picture of the Lex Luthor figure
in the upcoming DC Direct line of Smallville action figures.
The figures should be coming later this year, and in the assortment
there will also be figures of Clark Kent and Lana Lang.

Name
Of The Week: "Nicodemus" |
(3/27)
If you hadn't heard the name "Nicodemus"
before last week's episode of Smallville, prepare to
hear it again.
DC
Comics' Batman #601, which hit comic book stores this
week, featured the villain by the name of -- you guessed it
-- Nicodemus. We haven't read the issue yet to see
if he has anything in common with mythical flowers in Smallville,
but it still is interesting to note.

Smallville
Invades The Comics |
(3/25)
Now that Smallville has captivated television audiences,
the concept of the show might soon be invading the comic books
as well.
Besides
the Smallville one-shot comic book due sometime in
2002, fans can look forward to some "Clark Kent as a
teen" stories in issues of the regular Superman comic
books. The stories will be told through "Ma Kent's scrapbook."
The
first "young Clark Kent" story will arrive in issue
#791 of Action Comics in May, Superman comics editor Eddie
Berganza told Newsarama's
Mike Sangiacomo. It is said the story could have come "right
out of an episode of Smallville."
"There
are many stories out there about Clark, the day he realized
he could fly or had heat vision, that people will want to
read," Berganza continued. "He has a lot of stories
to be told. His college years would be quite interesting."
Of the TV show, Berganza said "I love the relationship
between Clark and Luthor. That scene where he said their friendship
would be the stuff of legend gave me shivers."
The
teenage adventures of Superman in comics are nothing new.
The Superboy series began in the late 1940's and lasted
on and off through the character's end in the mid-1980's.
In the new, post-1980's comic world, Clark never put on a
costume until his adult years as Superman in Metropolis. The
new comics will stick to that.
For
the rest of the article, and to see what else is planned for
the next few months in the Superman comics, visit Comicon.com's
Newsarama.

Novels Coming Our Way? |
(3/17)
We are hearing that Little Brown Publishing will be publishing
some Smallville novels this Fall, and
that "at least three" will be written by the "Jitters"
author/novelist team of Cherie Bennett and Jeff Gottesfeld.
We'll
let you know if and when we hear more about this. Thanks to
Memoh for the tip. If the novels are even half as good as
fanfiction
written by SullivanLane, they will be very good indeed!

The
Music of "Nicodemus"
(3/20) It had to happen... finally,
a reference to John Schneider's tenure as "Bo Duke" on
the TV classic The Dukes of Hazzard. The late Waylon Jennings' "Good
Ol' Boys" (aka, the theme song to The Dukes of Hazzard)
was just one of MANY songs featured in "Nicodemus." Here's
the music list, and to your right, as a special tribute to Bo --
err, Jonathan Kent, a picture of him in his youth. He's the one
on the left. Sheriff Rosco would be proud.
"Good
Ol' Boys" (Theme Song To "The Dukes of Hazzard")

This is playing in Jonathan's truck at the beginning of the episode,
right before he has the accident.
Order
a CD with this and many other TV show themes!
"Destiny"
by Zero 7
"Supernatural"
by Divine Right
"Sadie
Hawkins Dance" by Relient K

If you've never heard of the band before, they once did an *awesome*
remake of the Charles in Charge theme. Ok, you're scared
now... first Dukes of Hazzard and now this...
"Big
Day" by Puracane
"I
Will Make You Cry" by Nelly Furtado
"Love
Sweet Love" by Josh Clayton-Felt
"Saturday
Night's Alright" by Hal Lovejoy
"Beautiful
Day" by U2

This is playing at the very end of the episode. Interesting to note:
this song was also used in the original unaired version of the Smallville
pilot.

the links and order these CD's through Amazon.com to help support
KryptonSite! And if you know what parts of the episode these songs
appeared in,

Sam
Jones III Gets Much Praise For "Zigzag"
(3/19) Harry Knowles of Ain't
It Cool News recently saw a sneak preview of "Star
Wars: Episode II," and just posted his review. Go over
and read it. But that has nothing to do with Smallville,
so how about this...
Harry
also recently saw "Zigzag," a movie starring John
Leguizamo, Wesley Snipes, Oliver Platt, Natasha Lyonne, and... Sam
Jones III, better known as the great but sadly underused Pete
Ross on Smallville. Knowles had great things to say about Jones'
performance in the movie. "Of all the films Ive seen
at the fest this year, this one had the loudest and the longest
sustained applause. Had Goyer brought out Sam Jones III, the theater
would have risen to its feet cheering," he said.
An
official release date for "Zigzag" has not been announced,
but when we do know, we will post the news here. Congratulations
Sam! To read Harry Knowles' review click

"Sorority
Boys" Dragged Down By Competition
(3/25) Michael Rosenbaum
(Lex)'s new film "Sorority Boys" was barely noticed
compared to many of the other movies released on this same weekend.
Estimates say that the film made only $4.2 million on this very
high-competition weekend.
"Blade
II" took the top honors for the week, with impressive showings
for "Ice Age" and the "E.T." rerelease also.
(If you haven't seen E.T. yet, you should!) "Showtime,"
written by Smallville executive producers Alfred Gough and
Miles Millar, also did very well for the weekend.
