 When Smallville started, one might have not even expected Lois Lane to ever end up on the show.
Enter Erica Durance as Lois in the Season 4 premiere "Crusade." But there was a catch: Due to restrictions involving the Superman Returns movie, there was not to be a Clark/Lois romance, unless it was done under the influence of Kryptonite or something like that.
At some point, that was lifted, and the Clark and Lois relationship and story arc -- which for a time involved Lois pining after "The Blur" -- was voted the "Favorite Smallville Story Arc" by over 27% of the 2,792 people who voted.
The Clark and Lex friendship of the early seasons came in second place with 381 votes, and third place was, well, "Superman in high school," a fun notion that got the show running. That had 11% of the vote.
