Al Gough In Smallville: The Comic #4
Issue #4 of DC Comics' Smallville comic book features a great interview with executive producer Al Gough about the show's third season. Since some of the material is spoilery, we've relegated it to its own separate page.

• Gough reveals that "Now that Clark has all of this information, [this year] is really about what effect it has on him. How does he process it, and how will it help him on his road to becoming Superman?"
• The new season will also reveal how all of Clark's releationships have changed now that he's been out of town for three months.
• "We'll see Lex take a very dark turn early on," Gough says. He also reveals that "Clark will get a new super-power - there aren't that many left, so I'll leave you to guess which one, but he gets it in a very interesting way." He also teases that "an event brings on this new power."
• We will hear Jor-El's voice again in the series premiere, again Terence Stamp.
• Krypto was in an early episode outline but was cut. "I think we could get a whole episode out of him," Gough laughs.
• No Lois Lane until at least Season Four, Gough reveals. We may, however, get Jimmy Olsen by the end of the season.
• Gough reveals that Lana may potentially get a new love interest in Season 3. "But where it is now, she obviously is still in love with Clark. Clark's also in love with her, but he'll be feeling several classic superhero dilemmas," Gough says.
• Gough also implies that the meeting between Perry and Clark in "Perry" might be the impetus for why Perry was so quick to hire Clark for being a "good typer" in "Superman: The Movie."
