Michael Rosenbaum Talks Lex & Helen In Starlog

So it's your wedding day, and instead of getting married, you plummet into the ocean instead.

Michael Rosenbaum was recently interviewed by Starlog magazine's November 2003 issue, where he talked about his character's relationship with Dr. Helen Bryce. Here are some details:

Regarding Helen's fate: "I don't know what's going to happen with Helen. Is she going to be around for the whole third season? I don't know. They don't even tell me that. I'm like, 'Come on, you're going to kill her off or something, right?' And they're like, 'We're not telling you $#! .' That's what they tell me. But I like the relationship. I thought that [in "Visitor"] we showed, for the first time, that Lex is going to confide in someone. He's going to trust Helen and let go a little bit because he has so many things that he keeps bundled up inside him. I believe that was an important moment -- a nuance in Lex's development: 'I'm going to trust you.' That, for Lex, can only lead to [trouble]."

What would Michael like to see? "I would like to examine Lex's past. I would enjoy going back to Club Zero and finding out what really happened there, because I don't really buy [Lex's explanation]. I want to dig into his past and go back to when he was younger. I'm interested in seeing what happened to Lex before he became Lex, when he was that little red-headed kid. I want to see little Lex in more episodes. I want to see little Clark in more episodes -- although [that actor] is older now. I love working with John, and I wnat to keep doing more Lex-Lionel scenes, and I would like to start working with Sam Jones and Allison Mack. That would be fun. We haven't really had a lot of that. Kristin Kreuk and I got to work with each other last season, and I want to continue to work with her because we have so much fun together."
