The Music of "Tempest"
Here's a list of the music from the first season finale of Smallville:

"What Do I Have To Do?" by Stabbing Westward
"Where This Love Goes" by Sherri Youngward
"Everything" by Lifehouse -- This played during Lana and Whitney's dance. This song was also used in the first episode of Smallville.
"Breathe" by Greenwheel
"Let Go" by Gigolo Aunts
"What We've Been Through" by Paul Trudeau

The episode also featured a special appearance by the band Remy Zero. The folowing songs were played at the Spring Formal:

"Save Me" by Remy Zero
"Perfect Memory" by Remy Zero

Oddly, the TV version of "Save Me" (which also is used as the Smallville theme song) was what was played and somewhat obviously lip synched at the dance. To quote Clark, "Hey I like these guys!"

Smallville Season Finale Party Details!
(5/22) KTLA-5 (the WB station in Los Angeles) and KIIS-FM held a special party on Tuesday night, May 21st, to celebrate the season finales of Gilmore Girls and Smallville. In attendance were John Schneider (Jonathan Kent) and Sam Jones III (Pete Ross), and KryptonSite's own webmaster Craig and the queen of the message boards, SullivanLane. Also at the event were Gilmore Girls stars Keiko Agena, Milo Ventimiglia, and Scott Patterson, 7th Heaven's David Gallagher (who kept blocking the view of the show), and the cast of Off Centre (including the Milf guy). SullivanLane also got a chance to talk to Milo Ventimiglia, who is a Smallville fan and Allison Mack's buddy. [I can't go without embarrassing SullivanLane and revealing that she thought he was a total hottie in person. He is also, of course, Jess, the much better choice for Rory, on Gilmore Girls -- Craig]

Sam Jones III offered a message for the fans at KryptonSite:

"I just want to say thank you so much to all the fans. You know, when the show first started, before it came out and we were doing the pilot, there was some negativity out there because Pete Ross was originally white, but I've got to think all the hardcore fans that really stuck up for me, and all the fans who started the -- the 'Give Pete More Airtime' campaign, I love all of you guys, and thank you so much for watching. And, you know, my dad reads all the posts on the message boards, and I am seeing them, and I thank you all, and I love you all."

Sam also mentioned that he did indeed get the birthday wishes that were posted on the KryptonSite message board last month.

John Schneider also offered his thoughts on "Tempest" shortly before the episode aired.

"I truly believe that the final hour of the first season of Smallville is the most well written, most well produced, most exciting hour on television so far in the year 2002, on any network. So there, CBS!"

Smallville Repeats On Sunday Nights This Fall
(5/15) The Futon Critic reports that the WB has revealed that they will be showing repeats of Smallville on Sunday nights at 5PM (ET) this Fall, in one of their the network's new "encore presentation" timeslots. It will precede repeats of Everwood at 6PM and Gilmore Girls at 7. The shows selected for repeats could change so Smallville's stay there would only be temporary.

Of course, new episodes of Smallville will be remaining on Tuesdays at 9PM.

We'll let you know when the repeats begin later this year. But these will not begin until at least September, so don't start looking yet!

WB Season Two Write-Up Reveals Some Surprises
(5/14) The WB's write-up for Season 2 in their "2002-2003 Fall Preview" pages has gone up today, and one or two more future Smallville surprises are within.

Confirmed: Smallville Staying On Tuesdays!
(5/13) As previously reported as a "very strong rumor" earlier this week here on KryptonSite, the WB's plans for Fall 2002 have leaked and sites such as The Futon Critic have confirmed that Smallville will indeed be keeping its Tuesday-at-9PM timeslot. The Gilmore Girls/Smallville combo has been so successful for the WB that perhaps they just don't want to mess with what works. This also seemed to be the timeslot that the fans wanted the most for the new year.

Birds of Prey, another WB series based on a DC Comic, has been also been picked up to air this fall, and it is said to be airing on Wednesdays at 9pm following Dawson's Creek. For the KryptonSite take on Birds, visit GothamClockTower.com.
