Christopher Reeve Returns to Smallville!
The WB has announced that legendary Superman Christopher Reeve will be returning to his role as Dr. Virgil Swann for an episode of Smallville set to air on April 14.

The episode is titled "Legacy," and his scenes with John Glover and Tom Welling were shot on Monday, January 19 in New York.

"I just know, from the little Al has told me that, you know, I have a certain amount of information about Clark. So I think I come to him to try to find some more," Glover told KryptonSite at the WB's 2004 press tour.

Executive Producer Miles Millar also spoke with KryptonSite that evening. "The information that Swann gives Clark will send Clark off in a new direction," Miles told us. "It really sets up the last half of the season in a really cool way."

Millar also spoke with SciFi.com at the press tour, and had this to say: "When we bring Chris back, it's always a mythology episode. He always gives a piece of Clark's mythology, his destiny. So for us, it's always a big moment when he comes into the show. And I think it basically ... sends Clark into a new direction. And it's something that will actually be going into next season. And it will be signficant. I think it will be every intriguing for people to hear what he has to say and the information he has for Clark." To read the complete article at SciFi.com, click here.

NEWLY ADDED! John Glover and Tom Welling were both seen filming with Christopher Reeve at the New York Public Library on Monday, January 19. This should be a very good episode indeed!

NEWLY ADDED! John Glover told Sci Fi Wire this about the episode: "What's so exciting, too, is the fact that always before you've seen Lionel with people that he's five steps ahead of," Glover told the site. "And now you'll see him with somebody who has more knowledge, more power. So it'll be interesting to see Lionel in a relationship with somebody like that." Read the whole article here.

CHRISTOPHER REEVE RETURNS TO "SMALLVILLE"

Burbank, CA January 13, 2004
REEVE'S CHARACTER, DR. SWANN, PLAYS A VITAL ROLE IN THE SUPER SERIES' MYTHOLOGY
Christopher Reeve will return to SMALLVILLE, it was announced today at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour. The big screen Clark Kent/Superman will reprise his role of Dr. Swann in an episode that will air on Wednesday, April 14 at (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) on The WB.

Just as he did in his first appearance on the hit drama last season, Reeve's Dr. Swann will help advance the Superman mythology. As Lionel Luthor (John Glover) closes in on Clark Kent's (Tom Welling) secret, he approaches Dr. Swann for information. Concerned for Clark's safety, Dr. Swann warns him that Lionel is getting closer to the truth. Last season, Dr. Swann came into contact with Clark and filled him in on his origins and home planet of Krypton. The episode was one of the highest-rated in the history of the hit series.

Reeve, who brought the Clark Kent/Superman character to life in four "Superman" motion pictures, was paralyzed in a horseback-riding accident, and is continuing to fight to walk again. With his wife Dana, he continues his work as an advocate for paralysis research. Together, the Reeves opened The Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Resource Center, the nation's first facility devoted to teaching paralyzed people to live more independently.

SMALLVILLE was written and developed by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar based on the DC Comics characters. Gough and Millar serve as executive producers, along with Greg Beeman, Mike Tollin, Brian Robbins, Joe Davola and Ken Horton. The series is produced by Tollin/Robbins Productions and Warner Bros. Television. SUPERMAN was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
