Schneider Talks Season 5
In a new interview with Dave Mason in the Ventura County Star, John Schneider talked about the upcoming fifth season of Smallville -- and what that means for the adoptive parents of Clark Kent.

Here are some highlights:

  • After reading two of the scripts from Season Five, he told the Ventura County Star that he sees a trend toward more family stories involving his Jonathan, Martha, and Clark.
  • Schneider said that Clark will be attending a local university so he can stay at home and help rebuild the Kent Farm, which was damaged in the Season 4 finale.
  • Schneider feels that Clark has been so busy saving everyone that he hasn't had the opportunity yet to learn some very important life lessons. "Clark has skipped over an important development stage that needs to happen for a young man," he said. "As a real parent, I miss the part of life when the kids need advice from me. They get to the point when they know everything."
  • Schneider hints that the story of Jor-El is far from over.
  • "I hope he's in a few episodes," Schneider said about Tom Wopat's upcoming guest appearance on Smallville. He said he learned about the guest shot shortly before it was announced to the media.
