Obviously
an undertaking such as KryptonSite takes up a lot of bandwidth, and that
costs money. Beyond that, though, your webmaster Craig is still barely
employed. How can you help? Ordering through any of the Amazon.com links
always helps, but you can also donate to the site via PayPal! The links
to do so are just below. Thanks!! Any help is appreciated. (And if anyone
out there is interested in a web content/creative/television-obsessed

Smallville DVD
You won't see this in stores in the United States but you
CAN order it through Videoflicks.com.
The DVD includes deleted scenes, a map of Smallville, and, oh yeah, what
sounds like the Smallville pilot and "Metamorphosis."
The DVD also includes commentary from executive producers Alfred Gough
and Miles Millar and pilot director David Nutter. What are you waiting
for? Order
a copy!
Superman
For All Seasons
Smallville explores the story of
a young Clark Kent and his place in the world on television. In the comics,
this was very well illustrated in Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's "Superman For
All Seasons." This has been labeled a "must read" by many fans and also
listed as the favorite Superman story of recent years by many. Check it
out! Jeph Loeb will be writing and producing for Smallville's second season
so this might be an indicator of what's to come for next year.

New "Heat" Shots!
Posted
by: KryptonSite
TheWB.com
has posted some screen shots of the trailer to "Heat,"
which you can find adjoining this article.
As
you can see, the photo to your top right has Clark (Tom Welling)
being seduced by Desiree
(Krista Allen).
The
next shot, to your left, has more of the same.
Lana had better
watch out
or somebody's going to beat her to it!
The
third shot, to your right, is from Clark (Tom Welling)'s visit to
Lex Luthor's house. We're kidding. Really. He's probably looking
over at Desiree, or something.

"Vortex"
Breaks WB Ratings Records!
Posted
by: KryptonSite
The
season premiere of Smallville on Tuesday night helped the
WB to a #1 rank for the night amongst Persons 12-34, Women 12-34,
Teens, and Female Teens. The show was #2 in Adults 18-34, Women
18-34, Men 18-34, and Men 12-34.
"Vortex"
scored all-time high demographics for The WB in the Adults 18-34,
Men 18-34, and Men 18-49 groups.
The
excellent storytelling of the premiere coupled with the preview
for what looks like a "hot" next episode will likely ensure
that next week's ratings will be equally good. Congratulations again
to everyone at Smallville.

"Vortex"
Flies To Impressive Ratings!
Posted
by: KryptonSite
The
overnight ratings for "Vortex" have been revealed, and
it looks like not even Lionel Luthor would be disappointed in the
final results.
Only
the wedding of Niles and Daphne on Frasier, NBC's new Hidden
Hills, and CBS's The Guardian bested the show. Even better
news is that the premiere of UPN's Haunted was no match for
the Boy of Steel.
Here's
a tentative look at the overnights for September 24, 2002. Keep
in mind that final results often do change a little bit. Congratulations
to everyone at Smallville for a tremendous showing!

get rid of that. Let us know what you think!

Chat With Michael Rosenbaum!
Posted by: KryptonSite
Michael
Rosenbaum chatted on America Online earlier this evening. If
anyone has a transcript please e-mail
us. But here's a sample from the event. When asked what's in
store for Clark and Lex, Michael said this:
"I
think Clark and Lex are slowly figuring each other out day by
day. I guess that's what friendship is all about. We are learning
more and more about each other as each episode passes. I guess
the biggest secrets lie ahead, but right now, we continue in building
a friendship. Tom and I as actors greatly enjoy working together.
We are always testing each other, and making each other laugh,
like Clark and Lex. We have a great relationship as well. We are
always trying to make scenes more interesting then they are written,
although the great writing makes it easier for us."
Look
for more about Michael on AOL here on KryptonSite soon.

Comic
Book Writer Mark Waid Reveals His Smallville Preference
Posted
by: KryptonSite
As if being
the one-time sheriff of Smallville wasn't enough... upcoming
Superman: Birthright comic book writer Mark Waid was
recently interviewed at Kevin Smith's Moviepoopshoot.com,
and he answered the big question of who he would choose if he was
Clark Kent. Here's what he had to say:
Speaking
of Superman's origins, Waid is a fan of the WB television series
SMALLVILLE. He said the thing that intrigues him the most about
the show is that it has heart and doesn't treat Superman as a
joke. He also feels the producers are doing quite a bit right.
"Among
other things, I think that making the Kents young was a MASTERSTROKE.
Up until now, Clark Kent never had foster parents, he had foster
GRANDparents for all intents and purposes. Now he's being brought
up by people who can argue with him, can show some emotion, and
can show some human failings of their own. Brilliant," he
said.
Of course,
no discussion of SMALLVILLE is complete without it's own version
of the classic "Betty or Veronica?" debate. Waid clearly
has a choice.
"With
all due respect to the fine Kristen Kreuk, can you find me one
single carbon-based lifeform on this planet who wouldn't say "Chloe"?"
Waid said
he he doesn't know why Clark hasn't gone after Chloe and continues
to pine for Lana.
"Believe
me, if she were just a couple of years older, I'D be making a
move on her," he said.
You can read
the entire article, which also covers Waid's other comics work including
Fantastic Four, by clicking
here. And hopefully Kevin Smith won't mind us posting this excerpt
-- just to make up for it -- you are all encouraged to go out and
rent some of Kevin's movies. Because they rock, and they're good
for you. Go to the mall. You know, the place where you love the
smell of commerce in the morning -- and pick one of them up.
