One could say that Tom Welling's acting talent has surely grown in his five years on Smallville. Now, for the second year in a row, Tom's improvement has been recognized by the fans who have chosen him to win the KryptonSite Award for the Best Actor in Season Five in Smallville.

The fifth season gave Tom acting challenges such as breaking up with Lana (about eight times, which surely could get boring for an actor to have to do so many times!) and coping with the death of Clark Kent's father, Jonathan. In the series' 100th episode, Tom had to explore a range of emotions, having to deal with complete happiness and total loss at different points in the episode.

Tom won with 48% of the total votes between the four male actors chosen. (This year, we separated Male and Female actors). Coming in second place, with 24%, was Michael Rosenbaum.
