Smallville in Canada!
(11/15) Canadian fans rejoice: Clark, Lana, Lex & co. will be coming your way sooner than expected.

We are hearing that Smallville will premiere in Canada on Friday, November 23, 2001 on the GlobalTV network with three back-to-back episodes. The week after, we hear that GlobalTV will be airing two episodes; and after that, the show will go weekly.

"Lex Luthor" Hits The Web At MichaelRosenbaum.com
(11/15) The actor who plays Clark Kent's friend and future nemesis now has his own official website.

MichaelRosenbaum.com is where you can find a biography of the man who plays Lex Luthor, plus message boards, interviews and more. It sounds like some message board posters may be rewarded with autographs, too, so you may want to check it out.

Ratings: The King of Pop Beats The Man of Steel
(11/14) CBS's Michael Jackson special and NBC's 200th episode of Frasier blew away the competition in the ratings on Tuesday night. Maybe this means next week's Smallville should feature a man whose bonestructure and skin color change after exposure to Kryptonite. What do you think?

Smallville dipped a little bit from last week, but not as drastically as Fox's 24 did. Roswell dropped as well. Next week Smallville could very easily pass 24 in the ratings race.

Here's the chart of Tuesday night's overnight ratings:

Michael Rosenbaum Gets "Cabin Fever"
(11/10) Cinescape.com reports that Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) has signed on to star in a film called "Cabin Fever" which will be executive produced by David Lynch.

Cinescape describes the film as "the story of five friends who gather in an isolated cabin only to become victims of a flesh-eating virus. The film then takes on EVIL DEAD-like overtones."

You can read Cinescape's complete story by clicking here.

The Music of "X-Ray"
(11/7) By popular demand... here's a list of the music played in Tuesday night's episode of Smallville, which was titled "X-Ray." We have also identified whatever we could figure out, if you can place any of these other songs please send us some e-mail:

"Movies" by Alien Ant Farm -- Played at the very beginning of the episode
"Ooh La La" by the Wiseguys -- This is what is playing when we first see the school and the gym class
"Breathe You In" by Stabbing Westward

"Unbroken" by Todd Thibaud
"Up All Night" by Unwritten Law

Smallville Upcoming Episode News!
NOW UPDATED WITH MORE INFORMATION ON EPISODES #7-9!
Curious about what's coming in the next few episodes of Smallville? KryptonSite has the scoop:

I'm "Cool"... hey Chloe... wanna cuddle up and get warm with me?Tuesday night 's episode of Smallville is titled "Cool." The episode deals with a young man who must absorb body heat from others to keep from freezing to death. The character, Sean Kelvin, will be played by a 21-year-old Canadian actor named Michael Coristine. Coristine's previous credits include a movie called "Love Disease" and an appearance in the movie "Get Over It!" as "Love Scud Boy Band Member #2."

To the right you can find a picture of Michael Coristine from "Love Disease." For more information on that film, you can visit the "Love Disease" official website. "Cool" is written by Michael Green and directed by Jim Contner.

Episode #6 of Smallville is titled "Hourglass," and it will be airing on November 20th. KryptonSite has learned that the episode will guest star George Murdock, Eric Christian Olsen, and Jackie Burroughs.

George Murdock has had a very long career, with past credits including the "2nd Elder" in many episodes of The X-Files and in "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier" playing God. (Maybe he should share a scene with Lex Luthor's dad, John Glover, who played the Devil in Brimstone!) Murdock's earliest IMDb credit came in 1963 with an episode of The Untouchables. Two other past credits of his may be interesting to fans: He appeared in the Lois & Clark episode "Strange Visitor" as an Air Force general, and he also was in a 2nd-season Dukes of Hazzard episode alongside Pa Kent himself, John Schneider!

Eric Christian Olsen, who will be playing "Young Harry," recently starred in the short-lived Fox series Get Real. He'll also be starring in the upcoming film "Not Another Teen Movie." One interesting rumor about Eric that circulated about two years ago was that he was being considered for the role of Anakin Skywalker in the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode II." (The role ended up going to then-unknown Hayden Christenesn.)

Sixty-two-year-old Jackie Burroughs, who is playing Cassandra, appeared in multiple Tales of the City miniseries and in "Avonlea." She's done many other projects, but one that would be notable to fans is an appearance on the late but still popular Due South, in the episode "Eclipse." That's a picture of her to the left.

"Hourglass" is written by Doris Egan, a successful author whose credits include the "Ivory" series and "City of Diamond." She has also written for and worked on such shows as Profiler and Dark Angel, and she was an executive story editor for Early Edition. Ms. Egan is also one of the co-producers of Smallville. "Hourglass" is directed by Chris Long, who also has a connection to Lois & Clark, as he directed several episodes of that series, including the episodes "Double Jeopardy" and "Lois and Clarks."

Episode #7 of Smallville is called "Craving," and it deals with a girl who might have a diet plan that's more successful than the one that Ally McBeal uses. The girl, Jodi, is played by Amy Adams, who starred in the film "Cruel Intentions 2" and also has guest-starring credits including Buffy the Vampire Slayer (in the episode "Family") and Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane (starring Michael Rosenbaum as Jack!) You can find a picture of Amy Adams to your left. "Craving," which is scheduled to air on November 27th, is written by Michael Green and directed by Philip Sgriccia.

"Craving" is followed in December by an episode titled "Jitters" which will finally answer for you, "What was that episode that was previewed at the end of the first airing of the pilot?" "Jitters" involves a former farm hand of the Kents who is exposed to some pretty strange stuff on Level 3 of the Luthorcorp plant. The long-delayed episode is written by the husband-and-wife team of Cherie Bennett and Jeff Gottesfeld.

Also in December you can look forward to the episode called "Rogue" which sounds like one of those episodes that will just make people go "Wow." It will be the first of several to feature Kelly Brook as Lex Luthor's former girlfriend, "Victoria Emerson." You can find a picture of her to your right. Of course, there might not be any "former" about it, once Victoria arrives in town!

For much more detailed spoiler information on *any* of these episodes, visit the KryptonSite spoilers page.

Ratings: Smallville Improves Slightly Despite Heavy Competition
(11/7) The anticipated premieres of NYPD Blue and 24 didn't bite out of Smallville's audience at all on Tuesday night, nor did a 10-minute overrun of Buffy. Ratings for CBS's The Guardian, which was winning the timeslot for a few weeks, have slipped as well. This could be a good sign for Smallville and its future in the 9PM hour.

24, hailed as the "best new series" this season, apparently didn't reflect that ratings-wise, as it was beaten by ABC, NBC, and CBS. It might not be as much of a threat to Smallville as it was expected to be.

Here's the breakdown of how "X-Ray" fared this week against the competition, according to the overnight ratings:

Prevue Online Talks To Eric Johnson
(11/5) Eric Johnson (Smallville's Whitney) was recently interviewed by the PREVUE website.

And what does his character "Whitney" think of Clark Kent? "He didn't really have a problem with Clark until Clark got a bit too close with his girlfriend and that got him a little upset," Eric said. "Now, he's realizing that he's gone a little too far and trying to be a bigger man and not let that bother him. He's not really friendly with Clark and is just tolerating him right now."

To read the complete interview, including the truth of what Kristin (Lana) Kreuk thinks of Eric's sense of humor, visit the PREVUE website.

"The Trades" Covers Smallville
(11/5)
An online column by Seth Gunderson recently covered Smallville at "The Trades" website.

"The WB knows that it has a winner, it’s killing The WB defector Roswell in ratings, and it looks as if Smallville will continue to draw viewers their way," Gunderson said.

You can read the complete column here.
