Superman: Birthright Writer Mark Waid Shows His Good Taste
Comic book writer Mark Waid, whose Superman: Birthright by DC Comics is a new take on the Superman series, recently talked about the series in an interview at Comic Book Resources. Inside, he also revealed his preference of who was better -- Lana or Chloe?

To find out what he says, check out the interview at CBR.

Jeph Loeb's New Comic A Combination of His Specialties
Yep, two comic book features in a row... Jeph Loeb has wowed audiences with his Superman comics work and his Smallville episodes "Red" and "Insurgence." He's also known for his multiple fantastic Batman miniseries he's created for DC with Tim Sale, and is currently writing Batman with artist Jim Lee. Did we mention Batman is now the #1 selling comic book out there?

Now in comic book stores is the first issue of a new ongoing series called Superman/Batman -- a monthly team-up between the two characters. Sadly we here at KryptonSite haven't read a copy yet, but we hear it's *fantastic* and may even have a few things fans of the Smallville TV series might love. Look for that in comic book stores now.

Perry White Episode Confirmed!
Episode To Be Directed By "Supergirl" Director

Following yesterday's report from FilmJerk.com revealing that casting documents had gone out for the role, KryptonSite can now confirm that the famous Superman character of Perry White will indeed be making his Smallville debut. Perry will make his appearance in an episode appropriately titled "Perry." (For more information on the episode, visit the spoilers page!)

If you missed the FilmJerk scoop, with details about the role and when it will be shooting, click here. To the left of this article you can see Perry as played by Lane Smith on Lois & Clark. Obviously the powers that be will be looking for someone new.

If that wasn't enough big news -- the director of the episode will be Jeannot Szwarc, who directed the 1984 Superman movie spinoff "Supergirl" and also directed the Christopher Reeve film "Somewhere In Time." Another visitor from Superman's rich past returns!

And by the way -- we know this goes against our usual policy of "no spoilers on the front page," but this is such big news, and considering the title you'd have been bound to hear about it soon enough. Please forgive us! Oh, and again, even though some folks don't seem to listen -- please don't take episode titles or news from KryptonSite without having the courtesy to place a link to KryptonSite.com. Thanks!
