Smallville Comic Book: Now On Sale!
Posted by: KryptonSite

Smallville: The Comic, the first of hopefully many special comic books set in the world of Smallville, hits comic book stores across the United States this week

The comic includes stories by Smallville writer Mark Verheiden and what looks like fantastic artwork by Roy Allan Martinez and John Paul Leon. Included will also be features about the show's production and the new season.

Click here or on the cover image to the right of this article to go to KSite's gallery of images from the comic book.

Oh, yeah... did we mention that only the comic book will offer the key to how to get into Chloe's "Wall of Weird," launching today? Supposedly one can visit the online Smallville Torch and find a secret way to access Chloe's files with a password found only in the comic book. Let the challenge begin!

In case you're looking here for the password, we can't help you. It's good for you to go into the comic book store and pick up the comic -- it shows your support for the show and for DC Comics for creating such a comic. It could mean more Smallville specials and goodies in the future, too. And heck... while you're at the comic book store check out Batman #608, the first issue by new writer Jeph Loeb (also a writer for Smallville, we might add!) and artist Jim Lee.

This could be especially interesting to Superman fans, as earlier in his career, Cassidy appeared in three episodes of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman as "Leslie Luckabee," a man who bought the Daily Planet that also was thought to be the son of Lex Luthor. This time around, Cassidy will play a character with a familial connection to someone else. (Curious? Read the Spoilers page!)

Shawn Ashmore, who played "Eric Summers" in the first season Smallville episode "Leech," was recently interviewed at Comics2Film.com.

Shawn spoke primarily about his role as Bobby Drake/Iceman in the upcoming movie sequel X-Men 2. But he did, however, mention his Smallville appearance. "Far as I know, the Smallville people haven’t said that they’d be interested in bringing that character back," he told Comics2Film. "I think that the show's concept of having new villains every show keeps it fresh and interesting."

Special thanks to: Corey from NC

John Schneider (Jonathan Kent) was featured the Mike and Morgan in the Morning radio show on Tuesday, October 1st, where he talked about the show, and past series in his career.

John of course did the "comparing Clark to a special needs child" bit again, and he told a funny story from the set as well:

"I have to tell you a quick story," John told the show. "We're on the porch of the Kent Family farm last season and Tom Welling who plays Clark Kent is looking at me playing Jonathan - giving him some serious bit of parental advice and all of a sudden, I hear him say, 'Will you look at that car.' And I turn around and down the street driving right in front of the Kent family farm house was an orange '69 Dodge Charger with a big '01 on the door and a flag on the roof."
